How Bright Minds Works
Everything you need to know about giving your child a wonderful learning experience — in simple, friendly steps.
Your Child Profiles
Bright Minds works out the right reading level, maths difficulty, and story themes from your child's date of birth. The more accurate the date of birth, the better the experience.
Add your child
Go to the Learning Hub and tap "Add Child", or use the + button on the Parent Dashboard. Fill in their name and date of birth.
Date of birth sets everything
We use it to pick age-appropriate stories, questions, and learning activities. No manual level-setting needed.
Edit whenever you like
Go to Settings → Child Preferences → Edit Profile. You can update their name, photos, DOB, pet, and more.
UK or US English
Each child gets UK (colour, favourite) or US (color, favorite) spelling. Change it in Settings → Child Preferences under English Spelling.

Choosing the Active Learner
Bright Minds is designed around one child at a time on each device. Before starting any activity, make sure the right child is selected.
Go to the Learning Hub
Tap 'Learning Hub' in the menu. You'll see the child selector at the top.
Choose the child
Tap the child selector dropdown and pick the child who will be learning on this device.
Start learning
Once a child is selected, every activity — Stories, Maths, Writing, Brain Games — is tailored to that child.
⚠️ Important
Understanding Active Learning Seats
A learning "seat" is counted when a child starts any learning activity. Browsing the app, checking settings, or looking at the dashboard does NOT count.

Troubleshooting
Wrong child is active
Go to the Learning Hub, tap the child selector at the top, and pick the right child. All activities will now use that child's profile.
A seat seems stuck
Go to Settings → Active Learners. Find the stuck session and tap 'Release'. The seat is freed immediately — progress is saved.
Child cannot access an activity
Some activities (Maths, Writing, Vocabulary) require a Reader or Genius plan. Story generation has daily limits on the Free plan. Check your plan on Settings or the Pricing page.
Age content looks wrong
Go to Settings → Child Preferences → Edit Profile and check the date of birth. Content is automatically matched to the child's age from their DOB.
Audio or microphone is not working
Make sure your device volume is on, check your browser's site permissions for microphone access, and try refreshing the page. Some browsers require HTTPS for audio features.
Child profile needs editing
Go to Settings → Child Preferences and tap 'Edit Profile' for the child. You can change their name, DOB, photos, pet, and English spelling variant.
